However, as the Vatican metaphor chosen by François Bayrou indicates, they are not supposed to interfere in this closed session. But the stakes were too crucial to resist the temptation to influence the discussions.
The system could indeed show a negative balance of 15 billion euros by 2035 and 30 billion in 2045, warned the Court of Auditors in a report commissioned by the Prime Minister, published last Thursday.
